On Memorial Day weekend, May 24 and 25 from 10 am to 5 pm., artists, potters weavers, sculptors, carvers. wood workers, photographers will be displaying at about 20 locations along the St Lawrence River, 1000 Islands Region. Areas include Redwood, Alexandria Bay, Wellesley Island, Town of Orleans, Clayton, and Cape Vincent NY. Visit me at my :"Studio on the Narrows", on Wellesley Island, Hutch's Haven Drive. This free self guided tour will have brochure/maps available at tour stops which are identified by signs. Brochure/maps will also be available at Chambers of Commerce, most hotels and restaurants, libraries, route 81 N rest stop 3 miles south of the US Bridge Span, and Thousand Island Tourism Council at Collins Landing. June Plein Air Painting Classes At Wellesley Island NY Nature Center Wellesley Island, NY - April 21st, 2014. Robert P. Hedden will hold four classes on on Mondays starting June 16 to July 7, 2014. Classes start with a demo and lecture followed by indoor or outdoor painting, weather permitting. Lecture will vary each week and cover color theory and harmony, values, paint mixing and application, composition, design elements and design principals, linear and aerial perspective, effects of light, tree shapes, critiques, style analysis, studio concepts. Oil painting will be used for demos but if participants are proficient with acrylics or watercolors they can use them.The emphasis is on principals rather than technique. Class starts at 9:30 a.m. and continues until 2:30 p.m. A portion of the $25 per class fee is donated to the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center. Advance registration is required as minimum class size is 4 and maximum is 10 to allow for individual attention. Email...

Bob’s passions are plein air painting regional landscapes, mostly in oils. and life/figures, mostly in
watercolors, plus some portraits. Bob’s mood at any given time and the subject matter will influence his medium
choice. Bob says he is more interested in the creation process, rather than being master of one medium, subject, or
style. Inspiration comes from the Thousand Islands, NY, area where he lives on Wellesley Island, from travel, and
museum visits. Bob relates that he has created art since childhood, receiving his first award in seventh grade.
